Do you ever pull up to a stop light waiting to turn when you notice someone in tattered clothing standing just off the road holding up a sign, “Help! Out of work!” ? You often wonder what to do. Does he really need money? Is he telling the truth? Will he use what I give him and blow it on something that isn’t necessary? All of these thoughts and many more go screaming through our mind. Well, here’s an idea of something to do that will make sure you help, but won’t leave you wondering whether what you give will help.
Keep a blessing bag in your car in case you do find someone in need in those least expected areas. Fill it with items that you know would help someone in need who maybe doesn’t have a home at this particular time in their life.
Here’s some ideas for your blessing bag (but feel free to add your own):
- Thermal socks
- Beef sticks
- Granola bars
- Tooth paste & brush
- A card with some Scripture verses and a nice personal note of encouragement from you
- A personal size Bible
- $10 bill
Random acts of kindness take very little effort and could change the life of one, special person.
