12 Days of Christmas Ending With a Sheep

It’s felt a little like the ’12 Days of Christmas’ as we were in final preparations for our Christmas celebration which was held this past Sunday.  It began with recruiting an amazing team of volunteers including many families from various suburbs who joined together to serve, members from Cedar Valley Church, an 8th grade boys basketball team, Hosanna! Church, Edinbrook Church, St Stephens Catholic Church, River Valley Church, and Living Waters Church.  All in all, we had a team of around 70 to help with various aspects of this celebration from gift purchasing & wrapping, to the community dinner, to the gift distribution after church.

Our celebration dinner  was followed by a special Christmas message presented by our guest Pastor Paul Marzahn as a Shepherd with his sheep, yes, a real sheep!  And, following the message, our guests were treated to a dessert and an individual present specifically for them based on a prior interview we had with them.  What joy it was to present these gifts and then seeing their huge smiles ear to ear.  It melted our hearts.

We give many thanks to all of those who stepped up to help serve at Breakthrough this past week.  Our heart is full because of you and we hope to see you back again soon.

God bless you all!
