First, we learned that Jesus spent over three years teaching and pushing his disciples out of their comfort zones. He wanted to see if they were ready to carry on his mission. After rising from the dead, Jesus repeated his instructions at least four times over 40 days. His main focus? Preach the kingdom of God, heal the sick, cast out demons, and even raise the dead. Talk about powerful purpose! Understanding the Word of God is key, and knowledge alone isn't enough. We need understanding to truly apply it. Thankfully, the Holy Spirit is here to guide us in gaining that understanding and applying the Word effectively. The four steps of discipleship were highlighted in this sermon are selection, invitation, acceptance, and action taken by Jesus. Jesus' disciples followed him closely, observing and learning from his example. The Holy Spirit empowers us to be witnesses for Jesus, using the same power that raised him from the dead. We have a powerful purpose, even if others see us as inferior or not "good enough." Jesus delegated his work to a group of misfit teenagers and young 20-year-olds, knowing they would be responsible for his ministry and life's work. We can learn so much from their example. Take inspiration from Jesus' delegation strategy and spend time with others. Study the principles that governed Jesus' ministry to make an impact in your own endeavors. Remember, the Bible is not just a book for wisdom, it's alive and active, transforming us as believers. Shake off rejection and boldly fulfill your mission, just as Jesus instructed.
